Support AWAIC
24 Hour Crisis & Support Line
Donate Items
When survivors arrive at AWAIC’s emergency shelter they often have few, if any, personal belongings. By donating essential items like clothing and hygiene items, you are helping survivors take their first steps toward a safer future!
Donation Guidelines
- We are accepting donations BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, weekdays (Monday-Friday) between 8am and 3pm at AWAIC (100 W 13th Ave).
- Unscheduled donation walk-ins will not be accepted.
- We are able to accept up to two (2) kitchen-size (13 gallon) trash bags of gently used clothing per donor.
Request An Appointment
To request a donation drop off appointment, please fill out this form and our team will contact you within 7 business days. Please do not attempt to drop off donations without confirmation from AWAIC staff.
Amazon Wishlist
Please consider purchasing new clothing, toiletries, and other much-needed supplies from our Amazon Wishlist. These items are conveniently shipped directly to AWAIC from Amazon. The items marked “High Priority” are currently in high demand at the shelter.

Donate Cars, Antiques and Valuables
Thanks to our community partnership with Alaska Premiere Auctions and Appraisals, AWAIC is now accepting donations of cars, trucks, boats, ATV’s, antiques and collectibles. If you would like to donate your items or if you have questions, please reach out to our Development team. Email us at development@awaic.org.
Household Goods & Furniture
AWAIC is not currently accepting donations of household goods or furniture. If you are trying to donate your household items, please consider donating these items to Shiloh’s Furniture Bank or Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
We are unable to accept the following:
- Business casual or high fashion clothing
- Any clothing with innapropriate or graphic imagery
- Any clothing that is “dry clean only”
For business casual or high-fashion items, we recommend donating to FashionPact Community Conscious Resale Boutique – and when you do, consider asking for the proceeds of your donation to go back to AWAIC to support survivors of domestic violence.
We encourage donors with large quantities of other types of clothing to use Big Brothers Big Sisters’ free donation pick-up service!
Hold a Donation Drive
